They named only Intel's IPU6 cameras, so the owner of a laptop whose camera sits behind AMD's ISP4, HP's ZBook Ultra G1a among them, would expect it to work as a USB camera does. Its capture driver came in Linux 7.2 (VIDEO_AMD_ISP4_CAPTURE); Kryptik builds 6.18, with DRM_AMD_ISP off, no platform cameras in the media filter, and amdgpu/isp_* left out of firmware.list. camera.md's MIPI section says what it would take, and that its one capture node would fit a grant as a USB camera's does. "Ryzen AI Max", not "Ryzen AI": the Ryzen AI 300 laptops, the ZBook 8 G1ak among them, have USB cameras.

Docs only: docs/design/camera.md and docs/user-guide.md. The base is zbook-batch-3 (#641), whose #630 and #640 edit the same files. It retargets when #641 lands.
The camera docs named only Intel's IPU6 MIPI cameras as not covered. AMD's Ryzen AI Max has one too, behind its ISP4 image processor, in HP's ZBook Ultra G1a. Facts, from the audit's verified camera:6 (zbook/audit-2026-10-23/verify-camera-docs-0-1.json):
drivers/media/platform/amdis absent at v6.18.56. The capture driver is torvalds 9a54c285630c (2026-05-06), first in v7.2:VIDEO_AMD_ISP4_CAPTURE, which depends onDRM_AMDGPU && DRM_AMD_ISP.DRM_AMD_ISPis set by no fragment; boot.fragment's media filter has no platform cameras; firmware.list saysexcept amdgpu/isp_*.The wording says "Ryzen AI Max", not "Ryzen AI": Ryzen AI 300 laptops such as the ZBook 8 G1ak have USB cameras. The 2026 ZBook 8 G2a is left out, since nothing shows its camera is ISP4. ADR-026's cost line is left as it is.
