Summary

  • Allow occupancy and track as order fields in OAuth2SummitLocationsApiController::_getLocationEvents (covers /events, /events/published and the public route).
  • Apply applyExtraJoins in DoctrineSummitEventRepository::getAllByPageLocationTBD so order=track has its category alias on location_id=tbd (previously would 500).
  • Update OpenAPI annotations for getLocationEvents, getLocationPublishedEvents and getLocationPublishedEventsPublic.

Fixes the Validation Failed - order by field occupancy is not allowed popup on the Show Admin Room Occupancy page after sorting and selecting a room.

Notes

  • The category join is an INNER join, so ordering by track drops events without a track, same as the summit-wide endpoint today. Kept for parity.
  • order=track_id remains accepted but unmapped (pre-existing, out of scope).

Test plan

  • New tests in OAuth2SummitLocationsApiTest (+occupancy, -occupancy, +track on a real location and on tbd, plus occupancy sequence and track checks): 15/15 pass in the summit-api container; 14 fail without the fix.
  • Full OAuth2SummitLocationsApiTest suite

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Location-event responses now include occupancy and track information.
    • Location events can be requested in occupancy or track order, including events at locations marked TBD.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Location-unassigned event searches now correctly apply joins needed for filtering and ordering.

The location events endpoints rejected order=occupancy and order=track
with a validation error, breaking the Room Occupancy page once a room is
selected. Add both fields to the allowlist, apply the extra joins on the
TBD location path so the track order mapping has its category alias, and
update the OpenAPI annotations.

📝 Walkthrough

Location-event endpoints now document occupancy and track as orderable fields. The TBD-location query applies joins selected from filters and ordering. Tests cover these order parameters for venue and TBD locations.

Changes: Location-event ordering

Layer / File(s) Summary
Location-event ordering support
app/Http/Controllers/Apis/Protected/Summit/OAuth2SummitLocationsApiController.php, app/Repositories/Summit/DoctrineSummitEventRepository.php, tests/oauth2/OAuth2SummitLocationsApiTest.php
The response field list includes occupancy and track, and endpoint ordering documentation lists both fields. The TBD-location query applies filter- and order-dependent joins. Tests cover published and unpublished requests, ascending and descending occupancy order, and track order.

Track sorting is not directly verified by the new test. Adding distinct-track fixtures and an ordering assertion would improve confidence; the gap alone does not block merging.

496-521: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick win

The track-order test does not verify track ordering.

All fixture events use the same track, so a response in any order satisfies the track_id assertions. The test should include events with at least two distinct tracks and assert that their returned track sequence is ascending for +track. The shared data-provider test only checks the response status and JSON shape.

LGTM

The Room Occupancy page sends the same order param to the summit-wide
/events/published and to /locations/{id}/events/published. The summit-wide
endpoint already accepts order=location; the location endpoints rejected
it with a validation error. Add location to the location events order
allowlist (reusing the existing COALESCE(LOWER(l.name), '') mapping and
the l join) and update the OpenAPI annotations.

Tests cover +/-location on both location endpoints (real room and tbd)
and the ordering on the summit-wide published endpoint.
