feat(checkbox, radio): apply new variables to Checkbox and Radio #784 - #808
Bump @tedi-design-system/core to 6.12.0 and move Checkbox, Radio and their card variants to the new --form-choice-* tokens, matching the Figma states for default, hover, active, focus, disabled and error.
Add bordered to RadioCard and RadioCardGroup for bordered primary cards
Indent card descriptions past the icon so they line up with the label text
Rename tokens removed in core 6.12.0 in other components (Button, Toggle, Accordion, Calendar, DatePicker, Pagination, Dropdown, ChoiceGroup, VerticalStepper, TextEditor)
Radio cards can now be bordered individually or through their group. Grouped cards retain their border.
Bug Fixes
Updated form controls, choice cards, buttons, toggles, and related components to use current design tokens for consistent colors, borders, focus, hover, and disabled states.
Improved checkbox and radio invalid-state styling and focus indicators.
Checkbox and radio card groups now align cards to the top by default.
Documentation
Clarified checkbox and radio input descriptions and indicator behavior.
Expanded examples for checkbox and radio cards, including borders, descriptions, icons, and state variations.
Bump @TEDI-Design-System/core to 6.12.0 and move Checkbox, Radio and their
card variants to the new --form-choice-* tokens, matching the Figma states
for default, hover, active, focus, disabled and error.
- Add `bordered` to RadioCard and RadioCardGroup for bordered primary cards
- Indent card descriptions past the icon so they line up with the label text
- Rename tokens removed in core 6.12.0 in other components (Button, Toggle,
Accordion, Calendar, DatePicker, Pagination, Dropdown, ChoiceGroup,
VerticalStepper, TextEditor)
The pull request updates checkbox, radio, and choice-card styling to use choice-specific design tokens. It adds bordered radio-card inputs and revises related tests and Storybook examples. It also updates token references in calendars, date pickers, buttons, toggles, and other components.

Summary
Checkbox and radio states src/tedi/components/form/checkbox/*, src/tedi/components/form/radio/*, src/tedi/components/form/checkbox-group/*, src/tedi/components/form/radio-group/*
Checkbox and radio styles use choice-specific tokens for selection, interaction, disabled, focus, and invalid states. Tests cover selection checks and form-control behavior.
Choice-card styling and bordered radio cards src/tedi/components/form/checkbox-card/*, src/tedi/components/form/radio-card/*, src/tedi/components/form/radio-card-group/*, src/tedi/components/form/checkbox/checkbox.stories.ts, src/tedi/components/form/radio/radio.stories.ts
Checkbox and radio cards use state-specific styling, focus-ring shadows, and icon-aware feedback spacing. Radio cards add card-level and group-level bordered inputs, with tests for border inheritance. Stories show card variants, layouts, and states.
Community choice styles, choice groups, calendar grids, date-picker cards, pagination, and dropdown radio styles replace legacy token references with choice-specific tokens. The core dependency changes from 6.11.2 to 6.12.0.
Other component token updates src/tedi/components/buttons/button/*, src/tedi/components/form/toggle/*, src/tedi/components/content/accordion/*, src/community/components/navigation/vertical-stepper/*, src/community/text-editor/*
Button groups and toggles use updated unselected and selected tokens. Accordion and text-editor hover styles and stepper backgrounds use updated token references.
TEDI-Design-System/angular#807 — The pull request updates radio and checkbox card styling and stories, but does not add the requested small card size.

Full details: Title check
Explanation
The title "feat(checkbox, radio): apply new variables to Checkbox and Radio" matches the main change. The PR applies new --form-choice-* tokens to Checkbox, Radio, and their card variants, and the objectives confirm this. The title does not mention the core 6.12.0 upgrade, the bordered input on RadioCard and RadioCardGroup, or the token renames in other components. Those are secondary details, so the title is still accurate. The title references #784, which the objectives name as the linked issue, and the PR objectives also cite #808, so the number in the title should be checked.
Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
The changes address active issue #784. Checkbox, Radio, CheckboxCard, and RadioCard now use the new choice tokens for the required interaction states, including error states. The PR adds bordered RadioCard support, card-description alignment, state stories, and focused unit tests. The core 6.12.0 upgrade and related token renames support this component work. No additional coding requirement from the issue is shown as unmet by the available evidence.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
The changes remain within issue #784 and the stated core 6.12.0 migration. Token updates in Button, Toggle, Accordion, Calendar, DatePicker, Pagination, Dropdown, ChoiceGroup, VerticalStepper, and TextEditor update consumers of renamed core tokens. The added stories, tests, documentation, and layout changes support the component update. No unrelated change is demonstrated.

RadioCardComponent and RadioCardGroupComponent now expose bordered. The argTypes block documents grouped and showIndicator but has no bordered entry. The CardsHasBorder story demonstrates the input, but the API table does not list it.
Add a boolean control with the Radio Card category and a default of false. State that it applies to primary cards only and has no effect on grouped cards.
As per path instructions: "Story files should document every public input/model" (.claude/skills/contributing/references/best-practices.md).

Extract the duplicated state-matrix helpers into one shared story helper.
GridPlace, stateMatrix, stateMatrixStyles, capitalize, and cardStates are copied almost verbatim into radio.stories.ts at lines 708-874 and 957-966. Any fix to the grid placement or mobile layout must now be applied in both files. The two copies already differ in small ways, such as the order of the Disabled and Focus rows.
Move these helpers to a shared file next to the form stories and import them in both story files.

Preserve the selected background for error states.
When an error checkbox is checked or indeterminate, this line overrides the selected background with the unselected background. The component still renders a white check or remove icon, so the selected state can become visually unclear. Apply the error border only to enabled, unselected inputs. The corresponding TEDI implementation preserves regular selected colors for errors. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Minor · Apply selected-disabled styling to indeterminate checkboxes. · checkbox.component.scss:85
Apply selected-disabled styling to indeterminate checkboxes.
The selector only matches input:disabled:checked. A disabled indeterminate checkbox therefore keeps the generic disabled background instead of var(--form-choice-checkbox-selected-disabled). Include input:disabled:indeterminate in this selector. The corresponding TEDI checkbox applies selected-disabled styling to both states. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
