The Acton programs are now maintained in test/perf-benchgames of actonlang/acton (actonlang/acton#3257), where every commit checks them against this suite's unit tests. Before building, the acton and acton-tip jobs run .github/acton-programs.sh. It gives each problem in bench/algorithm exactly the .act files of the same problem at the Acton tip tag, and the job records that commit in its environment file. Both jobs build the same programs, so a program that needs a newer compiler than the latest release fails the stable Acton job. The copies in bench/algorithm stay for now, because suite.py checks that they exist and the site links to them.

The Acton programs are maintained in test/perf-benchgames of actonlang/acton,
whose tests check them against this suite's unit tests on every commit. Before
building, the acton and acton-tip jobs run .github/acton-programs.sh. It gives
each problem in bench/algorithm exactly the .act files of the same problem
directory at the Acton tip tag, which is the commit of the published
development build. The job records that commit in its environment file. The
source lists in bench_acton.yaml and bench_acton_tip.yaml still choose which
programs to build.

Both jobs build the same programs. A program that needs a newer compiler than
the latest release fails the stable Acton job, and that run has no stable Acton
results. The jobs also fail when the Acton repository has no programs for a
problem that has Acton programs here. ACTON_REPO and ACTON_REF select another
source, such as a branch in a local Acton checkout.
