Description of changes

Version bump to 1.68.0, which is what triggers the release.

develop carries 7 commits since v1.67.0 (2026-09-02). Four are the npm workspaces monorepo arc from #6567, and they are the reason this release is wanted now — aws/aws-sam-cli#9352 calls LambdaBuilder.prepare_shared_project, which does not exist in 1.67.0, so it cannot leave draft until this ships and sam-cli bumps its pin.

The remaining three are dependabot CI-action bumps (#905, #889, #907).

New public surface in this release: LambdaBuilder.prepare_shared_project(project_root, experimental_flags=None) and the BaseWorkflow.prepare_shared_project classmethod it delegates to, plus two new exception types (SharedProjectNotSupportedError, SharedProjectPreparationError). The nodejs behaviour behind it is gated on the experimentalNodejsMonorepo flag, so with the flag off every build takes the path 1.67.0 took. RPC_PROTOCOL_VERSION is unchanged at 0.3.

Description of how you validated changes

One line, __version__ only — no behaviour change here; the behaviour is in the four PRs above, each reviewed and merged on its own.

Against this branch: ruff check aws_lambda_builders clean, black --check clean over 206 files, and python3 -m pytest tests/unit 906 passed. The branch is cut from develop at 18b2f63 (the #941 merge), so that run also confirms the merged tree is green with nothing stale.
