Add a "Try It Offline First" section to the custom LLM guide: a minimal BaseLLM subclass that returns a fixed answer, a direct call, and a small Agent/Task/Crew run, with the command and expected output. It needs no API key and makes no model HTTP request, declares no native tool calling or stop-word support, and points to the Quick Start for the real-provider version. A smoke test runs the code block from the guide and compares stdout with the documented output, so the example cannot drift. The section is synced to ar, ko and pt-BR. Fixes crewAIInc#8003
Strix Security ReviewWarning This pull request has 109 commits after the last Strix review ( No security issues found. Review summaryThis PR adds a runnable offline custom-LLM example to the English docs and its three synced translations, plus a test that executes and verifies the example. The only code change is a test helper that runs repo-controlled documentation content via exec(); the source is a trusted file under the repository rather than attacker input, so no injection risk is introduced. No authentication, authorization, input-handling, or production runtime code is changed, and no security controls were removed. No security issues were identified. Updated for Reviewed by Strix |

358-359: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winParse the closing fences as lines.
If the Python example contains an inline string such as
print("```"), Markdown keeps the string inside the code block. The current split truncates the example and makes the smoke test fail. Match a closing fence only when it satisfies the opening fence’s character and length rules, and has only whitespace after it.Based on learnings, a closing Markdown fence must match the opener’s character and minimum length and have only whitespace after the marker.

Applied the CodeRabbit nitpick: the smoke test now only treats a fence at the start of a line as the end of a block, so a backtick run inside the example can no longer cut it short. |

Summary
Adds a "Try It Offline First" section to
docs/edge/en/learn/custom-llm.mdx, ahead of the existing Quick Start, so a new contributor can check theBaseLLMintegration without provider credentials:EchoLLM, a minimalBaseLLMsubclass whosecallaccepts the arguments the framework passes and returns a fixed answer.supports_function_calling()andsupports_stop_words()returnFalse.llm.call(...)and a small synchronousAgent/Task/Crewrun, with no API key and no model HTTP request.python echo_llm.py) and the expected output.callis where a real implementation sends the request, linking to the Quick Start. The real-provider example is unchanged and remains the next step.
Verification
test_offline_custom_llm_guide_example_runsintests/test_custom_llm.pyreads the code block and the expected-output block from the guide, runs the code with provider API keys removed from the environment, and asserts stdout matches the documented output exactly. This keeps the example and the guide from drifting apart. I confirmed it fails when the documented output is edited.I also ran the example as a standalone script with
OPENAI_API_KEYandANTHROPIC_API_KEYunset; it prints the documented output.Additional context
The section is synced to
docs/edge/{ar,ko,pt-BR}/learn/custom-llm.mdxperDOCS_TRANSLATIONS.md(code and output blocks identical, prose translated). Frozendocs/v*/snapshots are unchanged.Prepared with AI assistance (Claude Code), per CONTRIBUTING. I don't have permission to apply the
llm-generatedlabel, so could a maintainer add it?Note
Low Risk
Documentation and a doc-sync test only; no production library behavior changes.
Overview
Adds a Try It Offline First section to the custom LLM learn guide (English plus ar/ko/pt-BR translations), placed before Quick Start, so readers can validate
BaseLLMwiring without provider credentials. The new walkthrough introduces
EchoLLM: a stub that returns a fixedThought/Final Answerstring, opts out of native tool calling and stop words, and runs both a directllm.calland a minimalAgent/Task/Crewkickoff with documented command and stdout.A regression test in
test_custom_llm.pyparses the English guide’s Python and expected-output blocks, clears common API key env vars, executes the example, and asserts stdout matches the docs so the snippet cannot drift.Reviewed by Cursor Bugbot for commit 578e969.
