What type of PR is this?

  • Add a new dev container collection
  • Update to an existing dev container collection
  • Documentation/spec update
  • Other containers.dev site update (UX, layout, etc)

Description

Adds the raine-works Dev Container Features collection, published at ghcr.io/raine-works/devcontainer-features.

Why this collection exists: the existing Bun feature doesn't let you choose which Bun version to install. These features make the version a first-class option, so the same devcontainer.json builds the same toolchain every time.

  • bun: installs Bun at a version you choose (e.g. 1.2.0) or latest.
  • node: installs Node.js (lts, latest, a major version or an exact version), verified against the official SHASUMS. It can also install any of the major package managers if you want them: pnpm, Yarn (modern or classic) and Bun, each at a version you choose or latest. A whole JS toolchain comes from one feature.
  • deno: installs Deno at a version you choose or latest.

The features target Debian/Ubuntu images. Every feature has scenario tests that run in CI.

Collection checklist

  • Collection name
  • Maintainer name
  • Maintainer contact link (i.e. link to a GitHub repo, email)
  • Repository URL
  • OCI Reference (must be the collection root, e.g. ghcr.io/<owner>/<repo> — one entry per repository, not one per Feature; do not include http:// or https://)
  • I acknowledge that this collection provides new functionality, distinct from the existing collections part of this index.
