The plan checks API page loads, API-path 404s, and client errors on API pages. An issue escalates when API page loads fall or those 404s and errors rise.

Monitoring in production

Services: sentry-docs, develop-docs.

Mention @change-monitor in a comment to update the plan.

Plan

What changed

The site now builds API pages from OpenAPI schema SHA a25931d59d71c403d7d912bf9eca4308ab36f70b. The sentry-api-schema range from 3cdad0342a56d71baff4742c39b83a22c76f9fbd only edits CHANGELOG.md and package.json to 0.367.0. The OpenAPI document used at build time did not change. Requests to /api/ category and endpoint pages should keep serving the same content.

sentry-docs must deploy before these pages are live. develop-docs also builds this src file from the same commit. develop-docs does not call apiCategories and does not serve API pages.

Risk

A failed fetch of the new SHA can fail the sentry-docs build. Dropped endpoint slugs can 404 on existing API URLs. Invalid description markdown can break API page render. The shared src module can fail the develop-docs build or bundle.

Intended effect

This pin does not add a new runtime counter. The OpenAPI document did not change, so new API pages should not appear. confirmed means API page loads stay in the measured share band. absent means that share falls toward 0 while other page loads hold.

Signal Baseline Rule Source
API page loads Share of all page loads was 4.7% in 791 events. Prior 24h share was 4.5% in 693 events. 7d share was 4.2% in 4767 events. All page loads were 16729, 15543, and 112249 in those windows. Hold the share in 4.2-4.8%. Count may stay in 680-790 per 24h as traffic holds. Sentry org sentry, project docs. Metric docs.page.load with page_type:api environment:production. Windows 2026-10-19T17:36Z to 2026-10-20T17:36Z, 2026-10-18T17:36Z to 2026-10-19T17:36Z, and 2026-10-13T17:36Z to 2026-10-20T17:36Z.

Regression watch

API-path 404s would rise if slugs disappear. Client errors on /api/ URLs would rise if page render breaks. Site-wide client errors would rise if the shared page module fails. develop-docs client errors would rise if the shared bundle breaks.

The 7d docs error count is 12184 and is not this band. An earlier spike likely raised that week total. Use the last 48h for docs errors.

Signal Baseline Rule Source
API-path 404s 14 events in each 24h window. Share of API page loads was 1.8% then 2.0%. Hold the share in 1.8-2.0% of API page loads. Pair with API page load volume. Sentry org sentry, project docs. Metric docs.page.not_found with requested_path:api environment:production. Windows 2026-10-19T17:36Z to 2026-10-20T17:36Z and 2026-10-18T17:36Z to 2026-10-19T17:36Z.
API page errors 9 events in 24h and 5 events in the prior 24h. Share of API page loads was 1.1% then 0.7%. 7d count was 303 and is not this band. Hold the share in 0.7-1.2% of API page loads. Pair with API page load volume. Sentry org sentry, project docs. Error search environment:production http.url:/api/. Windows 2026-10-19T17:36Z to 2026-10-20T17:36Z and 2026-10-18T17:36Z to 2026-10-19T17:36Z.
docs production errors 153 events in 24h and 197 events in the prior 24h. Share of all page loads was 0.91% then 1.27%. Hold the share in 0.9-1.3% of page loads. Sentry org sentry, project docs. Error search environment:production. Windows 2026-10-19T17:36Z to 2026-10-20T17:36Z and 2026-10-18T17:36Z to 2026-10-19T17:36Z.
develop-docs production errors 31 events in 24h. 7d count was 172, about 25 per day. Hold near 25-31 events per 24h. Page load volume was not measured. Sentry org sentry, project develop-docs. Error search environment:production. Windows 2026-10-19T17:36Z to 2026-10-20T17:36Z and 2026-10-13T17:36Z to 2026-10-20T17:36Z.

Not observable

Pageload traces for /api/ docs routes returned 0 rows. A later HTTP span search for url.full:/api/ mixed other /api/ calls, so page latency and HTTP 5xx for API docs routes are not named here. No runtime signal exposes the live schema SHA, so HTML parity with a25931d5 cannot be confirmed from telemetry. Web vitals for API pages were not measured. develop-docs page load volume was not measured, so that error watch lacks a traffic denominator.
