Five verified findings: zero engine drift; 15-row test contamination (eval rebuild needed); clean v1 split; the expanded arms train on 24.5% of the test words and still lose; and the mechanism — corpus expansion shifted the output-length prior (volubilis 25.6 tokens avg vs test 10.4), wrecking short-word generation. v5 (length-filtered, 92.7k rows, BS4) is the corrective arm with a stated decision rule.
