rafasaurus's dotfiles --------------------- Uses GNU Stow: https://www.gnu.org/software/stow/ Supported on Arch Linux. Install GNU Stow before continuing. Some targets also require `sudo`, `pacman`, `paru`, Docker, and the repository submodules. Usage: ``` cd ~ git clone https://github.com/rafasaurus/dotfiles --recursive cd dotfiles make stow ``` `make stow` applies the `common` package and, when present, the package named by `hostname` (for example, `x220`). Use `make help` to list available targets. `install-udev` writes privileged system rules and `uninstall-udev` removes only this repository's rule filenames. Review those targets before running them. `make stow` may replace an existing `~/.config/mimeapps.list`. Security and setup: - Install Neovim from Arch packages (`neovim` is in `packages.txt`); there is no AppImage downloader. Existing manually installed binaries are not removed. - Run `make install-vim-plug` to install the pinned, SHA-256-verified plugin manager for Vim and Neovim. Editor startup never downloads it. Run `:PlugInstall` explicitly; plugins and AUR/source builds remain trusted code that you should review before installing/updating. - Arduino/serial and ST-Link tools use the Arch `uucp` group, not world-writable devices. Add your user once with `sudo usermod -aG uucp "$USER"`, then log out and back in. Run `make install-udev` and reconnect devices to apply the rules. - Plain suspend intentionally does not lock. Use `suspend_and_lock` when wanted. - QR clipboard output stays at `/tmp/qr.png` until the viewer exits, then is shredded and removed (also on handled signals/errors). Existing paths are refused. Shredding cannot guarantee erasure on SSDs, tmpfs or COW filesystems. - Run `make test-security` for isolated regressions (requires Python 3, a C compiler, Zsh and GNU coreutils; no root, network or desktop access needed). Text login (greetd + tuigreet): ``` make install-login # Save your work, then reboot: systemctl reboot ``` Disable any other display manager first. Use the tty1 login instead of startw; dwl exits or crashes return to authentication. Log out of other TTY shells. Logs: `journalctl -t dwl -b`. Recovery: Ctrl+Alt+F2, log in, run `sudo systemctl disable greetd`, then reboot.
