Conversation
Claude Code does not read .claudeignore, so the file had no effect. The patterns that matter are already covered by .gitignore, which Claude Code's search respects. Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5.5 <[email protected]>

Motivation
Claude Code does not read
.claudeignore. The permissions documentation says that if a project has one, "it has no effect", and tells users to move the entries intoReaddeny rules (https://code.claude.com/docs/en/permissions). The file gives a false sense that those paths are ignored.Summary
.claudeignore. Nothing else references it..gitignorealready coversbin/,obj/,packages/,.idea/,.vs/,logs/,*.log,TestResults/and_ReSharper*/..nuget/,.vscode/,temp/andReSharper*settings.local.jsonare not git-ignored, but none of them exist in the repository, so nothing needs hiding.Test plan
git grepfinds no references to.claudeignoreoutside the file..gitignoredoes not cover do not exist in the repository.
