fix(deps): Next.js 15.5.28, Node 22.23 base image and high advisories within their majors - #470
Adds pnpm overrides for every production dependency with a high advisory whose fixed release stays on the same major version as the one we already resolve, so no public API changes:

All are transitive (next, jsx-email, @tiptap/*, eslint, prisma). The overrides are range-scoped and bounded to the current major, so an unrelated major elsewhere in the tree is not forced onto a downlevel version. Both pnpm-workspace.yaml and package.json are updated, matching the existing "keep in sync for pnpm 9 deployments" comment.
Why
pnpm audit --prod on main reported 32 high advisories. After this change it reports 8.
Patches high-severity advisories in transitive production dependencies by adding range-scoped pnpm overrides that stay within the current major version, so no public API changes. pnpm audit --prod drops from 32 high advisories to 8.
The override ranges are bounded so unrelated majors elsewhere in the tree are not forced onto a downlevel release. Both package.json and pnpm-workspace.yaml are updated to keep pnpm 9 and pnpm 10 installs in sync. No source changes; the lockfile collapses each affected package to a single patched version.
Left for a separate PR
sharp, deepmerge-ts, and nodemailer fixes are major upgrades on their current majors.
braces has no published fix yet; the advisory requires >=3.0.4, which is not released.
Written for commit 4a2f4d7. Summary will update on new commits.
Summary by CodeRabbit
Chores
Updated the app framework, email-related packages, testing tools, and runtime environment, along with minimum versions for several underlying components.
Updated the local documentation development command to run its tooling on demand.
Tests
Added coverage for email delivery, including message content, attachments, and optional fields.
Adjusted test configuration and mocks; no changes to app functionality are noted.
Add pnpm overrides for the transitive packages whose fixed release stays
on the same major as the version we already resolve, so production deps
pick up the patched builds without an API-breaking upgrade.
pnpm audit --prod goes from 32 high to 8 high advisories.
Still outstanding, each needing a major upgrade or an unreleased fix:
sharp, deepmerge-ts, nodemailer and braces.

Walkthrough
Dependency overrides and package versions are updated across the workspace. The Docker base image changes to node:22-alpine3.23. The docs command uses pnpm dlx, and the installed Mintlify dependency is removed. Vitest versions, test mocks, and integration test worker configuration change. New unit tests check SES command fields and generated MIME content.
usesend/useSend#482: Updates the mail-related dependencies in the same manifests and adds the same sendRawEmail MIME tests.
usesend/useSend#477: Changes sendRawEmail, whose generated MIME message and SES command are tested in this PR.
usesend/useSend#475: Updates the same Next.js and Vitest versions and makes related Vitest configuration changes.

The docs command can pick up a future Mintlify release and change or fail without a repository change. Pin its version for reproducibility; this does not otherwise block merging.

Next.js 15.5.28 is the October 14 security release (image optimizer RCE
with SVG, Server Actions DoS). node:22-alpine3.20 stopped receiving Node
updates; alpine3.23 ships Node 22.23.4. Also pin sharp to 0.35.5 and patch
markdown-it, vite and zod v4 within their majors.

fix(deps): patch high advisories resolvable within their major version
fix(deps): Next.js 15.5.28, Node 22.23 base image and high advisories within their majors
Oct 25, 2026
Added Next.js 15.5.28 (Oct 14 security release), the node:22-alpine3.23 Docker base image and the sharp 0.35.5 pin from #474 (credited to @jiaweing), plus markdown-it 14.3.3, vite 7.3.7 and zod 4.6.6 overrides.
pnpm audit --prod: 32 high → 5 high, 0 critical. The remaining high ones need major upgrades (nodemailer and mailparser in apps/smtp-server, deepmerge-ts via html-to-text).
Checked locally: frozen install, web typecheck, unit (131), api (22) and trpc (10) suites all pass.
vitest 3 pulls tinypool 1.x (two critical prototype-pollution RCE
advisories) and has a mocker path-traversal advisory fixed in 4.1.11.
Vitest 4 constructs mocks with new, so constructor mocks use regular
functions, and poolOptions.forks.singleFork becomes maxWorkers: 1.
mintlify was only used by the dev:docs script but brought in most of the
remaining advisories (proxy-addr, axios, adm-zip, tar, sharp, ...). The
script now runs it with pnpm dlx. Also pin brace-expansion 5.0.12.
Folded in #482 (nodemailer 10.2.1, mailparser 3.12.4, smtp-server 3.21.1, plus a test that pins the MIME that ses.ts builds) and moved vitest to 4.1.11 and removed the mintlify devDependency (dev:docs now uses pnpm dlx mintlify).
Full pnpm audit (dev included): 45 high / 4 critical → 2 high / 0 critical. The two left need major migrations: zod 3 → 4 (zod-to-openapi) and deepmerge-ts 7 → 8 (inside prisma).
Checked locally: frozen install, web typecheck, unit 135, api 22, trpc 10, smtp-server tests 8 and tsc all pass.

<title>Migration Guide | Guide | Vitest</title>

<excerpt>citeturn0search0 [wordlim: 200] Crawled: yesterday; # In Vitest v4 the math.test.ts will run automatically. ... * `singleThread` and `singleFork` are now `maxWorkers: 1, isolate: false`. ... * `poolOptions` is removed.
### Pool Rework
Vitest has used `tinypool` for orchestrating how test files are run in the test runner workers. Tinypool has controlled how complex tasks like parallelism, isolation and IPC communication works internally. However we've found that Tinypool has some flaws that are slowing down development of Vitest. In Vitest v4 we've completely removed Tinypool and rewritten how pools work without new dependencies. Read more about reasoning from feat!: rewrite pools without tinypool #8705 .
New pool architecture allows Vitest to simplify many previously complex configuration options:
* `maxThreads` and `maxForks` are now `maxWorkers`.
* Environment variables `VITEST_MAX_THREADS` and `VITEST_MAX_FORKS` are now `VITEST_MAX_WORKERS`.
* `singleThread` and `singleFork` are now `maxWorkers: 1, isolate: false`. If your tests were relying on module reset between tests, you'll need to add setupFile that calls `vi.resetModules()` in `beforeAll` test hook.
* `poolOptions` is removed. All previous `poolOptions` are now top-level options. The `memoryLimit` of VM pools is renamed to `vmMemoryLimit`.
* `threads.useAtomics` is removed. If you have a use case for this, feel free to open a new feature request.
* Custom pool interface has been rewritten, see Custom Pool
ts
`export default defineConfig({
test: {
poolOptions: {
forks: {
execArgv: ['--expose-gc'],
isolate: false,
singleFork: true,
},

memoryLimit: '300Mb'
},
},
execArgv: ['--expose-gc'],
isolate: false,
maxWorkers: 1,
vmMemoryLimit: '300Mb',
}
})`
Previously it was not possible to specify some pool related options per project when using Vitest Projects. With the new architecture this is no longer a blocker.

Restore isolate: false to keep the single-fork test behavior.
maxWorkers: 1 limits the number of worker processes. It does not turn off per-file isolation. Vitest 4 defaults isolate to true. The Vitest 4 migration guide maps singleFork to maxWorkers: 1, isolate: false. This config sets only the first part, so test files now run with isolation enabled. Integration tests that depended on state shared across files can behave differently. If that isolation change is not intended, add isolate: false.
